Freak of Fashion

May 29, 2009

DZ4160web

The Diesel DZ4160 “Freak of Nature” watch combines a steel-strapped, oval case watch with a leather-strapped, square case watch. The result is a metal/animal skin hybrid that’s maybe not to everyone’s taste. But still fresh, original and heaps good.

That’s exactly what Peter Chmela learnt from his latest photographic project:

We’re not sure why, but Jonathan Schipper made a machine that advances two full sized automobiles slowly into one another, simulating a head on collision. The gear system can be adjusted so that the crash occurs over the period of a few days, up to one year or more. See the time lapse video here

Design For A Dollar

May 27, 2009

Industrial design students from the Pratt Institute in New York turned egg cartons into lamps and melted bottle caps into bowls for their exhibition, “Design for a Dollar” at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair. Perhaps we could get some of the pieces for our creative department?

Lamp, WTF?

May 27, 2009

Being a lamp is pretty simple. Someone turns you on, you light up. This lamp’s just out to complicate things and mess with your mind. WTF indeed.
